The world of red and gold

Red and Gold seem to be the colors for China. This combination is seen everywhere in Chinatown or Chinese shops, restaurants. According to Wikipedia, “Red, corresponding with fire, symbolizes good fortune and joy. …Yellow, corresponding with earth, is considered the most beautiful and prestigious color.”

Buddha Tooth Relic Temple

R0033289

There are a dozen kinds of Buddhas in this new temple established in 2002. In China(and Japan as well), each year is labeled an animal of 12 types such as rat, cow, tiger, rabbit, etc. Chinese people know which animal represents the year when they were born and forecast their fortune by these animals. Each Buddha here saves each animal and its people respectively.
(My understanding might be wrong as I’m not Buddhist.)
